The Dark Side

The 1360 Grid System is a method used to streamline web development workflow by providing commonly used dimensions, based on a width of 1360 pixels. There are seventeen columns. The idea is that the designer can easily move content around without having to calculate exact pixel position, in a way that is orderly and efficient, and will fit neatly on most screens.

The 17-column grid is divided into columns that are 60 pixels wide. Each column has 10 pixels of margin on the left and right, which create 20 pixel wide gutters between columns. This creates a total space of 80px for columns and gutters.
